We Moved! Both Alex and I said goodbye to our family homes and got our first place together.
It has been quite the crazy busy last few weeks with moving. We moved about two weeks ago now and we’re still working on getting settled in. Our new place is gorgeous and we’re are both in love with the space. It’s a brand new build so everything is new. It is a two bedroom, two bathroom upper level apartment tucked in the back of the community overlooking the small lake. It’s beautiful and quiet. The apartment community also has a fitness center and a community room which is really nice. I’ve already been taking advantage of the fitness center. A huge plus for me is that it is much closer to work. My commute has gone from 35 minutes down to 15 minutes which I’ve been loving and appreciating since moving here. Overall, we both are very excited for this new chapter in our lives and in our relationship!
Stuff and Clutter Galore
My next big task is having a rummage sale in a few weeks. I’m still working on getting everything I plan on keeping out of my parents’ house. However, there is a lot that I will be getting rid of. Once I get it all sorted I’ll be having a rummage sale at my parents’ house and everything that doesn’t sell will be getting donated or possibly put on Facebook marketplace to be sold. That’s one thing I’ve been focusing a lot on with this move is minimizing what I all need. I have also realized that I have an insane amount of products such as lotions and hair products that I’m trying hard to use up especially before buying anything more. Clothes too!! That’s the majority of what I will be selling in the rummage sale. I’m lucky to have a huge walk-in closet to myself in the new place but I still need to get rid of a lot of clothes I never wear anymore.
A Look into Our New Space
Below are some pictures of the place before we started moving a lot of our stuff in. I’m overly excited to start decorating and designing the space to be our own. I’ll be sure to share the process room by room as we go. We have a couch for the living room ordered but unfortunately it won’t be here for another month or so as the furniture industry is having a hard time keeping up with demand and things are shipping months out. However, it is something we have to look forward to! The first room I’ve started with decorating is the kitchen so that room is in the process of coming together currently.
