HELLO 2021!
I know I’m not the only one who was excited to celebrate the start of a new year. Believe me, I was beyond ready to kiss 2020 goodbye! I always love the fresh start of a new year and the opportunities and adventures that lay ahead.
Speaking of fresh starts, the blog got a little bit of a makeover! Even though I haven’t officially launched my website out into the world yet I have done a little bit of a rebrand going from pinks and white to more neutral and muted tones. I love how it turned out and it definitely feels more me.
I also thought I would share some of my goals for this new year. Not only do I want to share my goals but I think it’s important to take it a step further and break them down into how exactly I’ll work to accomplish these goals.
GOALS + HOW TO ACCOMPLISH THEM:
- Officially launch my blog out into the world + continue to build and make it into something I love to do!
- I created a google calendar completely dedicated to my blog work to keep me on task and organized
- Not letting the little things get to me and/or ruin my day
- BREATHE! Acknowledge that it is something that bothers me but tell myself to not let it completely ruin my day because most likely it won’t matter in a few days or even tomorrow
- Take the best care of my body and health that I can
- Focus on drinking more water throughout the day and eating a well balanced diet
- Listen to my body and not over do it with stress or activity
- Grow within my new job and gain new nursing experience
- Be patient with myself and give myself grace as I’m learning my new position
- Focus on a mind shift when it comes to doing intimidating nursing skills that I haven’t done in years (starting an IV, doing blood sugars, etc) instead go in confident, ask questions, and be excited to become proficient in the skill
- Continue to make progress in therapy
- Stick to my appointments and focus on implementing the tools we discuss in my daily life
- Utilize my planner to stay organized
- Ordered a new planner from Ivory Paper Co. that I’m excited to start using! Exact one I got linked here!
- Practice more yoga
- Make it a habit to do at least 10 minutes of stretching at night
- Read at least 12 books
- Start a new book each month
- This month I’ve already started reading All Along You Were Blooming by Morgan Harper Nichols – highly recommend!
I think 2020 taught us all a lot but I think it made us appreciate what we have and appreciate the people in our lives. It’s very easily to dwell on all the bad the past year brought but it’s important to remember the happy moments no matter how big or small they were. It’s also incredibly important to recognize those who are still very much struggling and to lend a hand in whatever way you’re able to in order to help. No act is too small and it may just make the difference someone needs!
I hope this year brings a lot more light, love, and happiness into people’s lives because we all need it!
xoxo,
Heather
